Why MealMatchWhy MealMatch

Restaurants are an important part of every community. They provide food, jobs and attract other businesses to the area making their neighborhoods sustainable and successful.

MealMatch supports local restaurants by buying meals in quantity on behalf of local Meal Centers that feed the hungry and food insecure.

The idea of MealMatch started during the Pandemic, when both restaurant and people needed help.
These conditions are ever present, so MealMatch continues to support local restaurants to feed people in need.

About UsAbout Us

MealMatch started at the onset of the pandemic, when Peter and Jenny Saravis teamed up with David Litchman to do something quickly and effectively to help local restaurants stay in business and address food insecurity. Peter, Co-Founder and Chairman of Evive, has extensive experience building organizations as well as supporting nonprofits that solve social problems. David, Founder of Pockets Restaurants and iMenu360, is well connected in the restaurant community and understands the challenges they face. Many restaurants suffered extensively during the pandemic, purchasing meals from them, to go to those in need made complete sense. Peter contacted local Meal Centers and David reached out to the restaurant community and thus MealMatch began.

They self funded the purchase of over 4,000 meals from local restaurants and fed over 4,000 people at local Meal Centers. "We will continue to do so but invite those similarly motivated to donate and expand the impact of MealMatch." Restaurants are an important part of all our communities and face challenges to survive. The reality of homelessness and hunger are ever present, and with the additional help from others, MealMatch hopes to expand its reach and connect more restaurants with those in need.
